Don’t worry, I’m not going to post a nude photo of myself.
I’m talking about exposing myself emotionally, not physically.
I read a lot of blogs and have seen how much people write about themselves; some writers seem completely unafraid to expose their flaws, their fears and their most private thoughts, seemingly without self-censorship.
I have revealed quite a lot of myself on this blog; my experiences coping with grief, mental health issues, my vasectomy, dating experiences, childhood, my first jobs, travel stories, living abroad and social nudity.
There are limits to how far I’ll go; some things are too sacred to share with the world, too personal, too private. I don’t want to upset or embarrass my friends or family; as much as there are certain topics that I would love to explore on here, some things are off limits.
I believe that writing is cathartic, and I admire writers who strip themselves bare. It takes guts to truly reveal yourself, to let yourself go, to tell the truth regardless of the consequences.
Maybe I’ll get there one day, but for now its restricted access only.
