Creative Parenting: thinking inside the box

What to do with an empty box and a creative child?

Grab your scissors, tape, a pile of old birthday cards, magazines and recycled bits and bobs and get creative…

My five year old and I made this diorama this morning.

Our starting point was his request to make a dragon.

And then we kept on adding different bits and pieces…

…until he decided it was finished.

Yes, it’s a bit surreal and doesn’t really make sense, but it was a lot of fun.

  1. I would have to say of the dioramas I have seen, this is the most interesting and creative ones and I think the upside down eagle from the top is pure genius.

The only one I made as kid in school was using single serving cereal and other small boxes to make one of the main street in town, but it was fun.
