We always borrow piles of books from the public library. These are current favourites.
Cinnamon by Neil Gaiman
A beautifully illustrated tale of a blind and silent Indian princess, who only learns to talk after spending time with a visiting tiger.
Nightlights by Lorena Alvarez
A wonderful picture book about girl called Sandy, who draws magical creatures that visit her at night. The illustrations are amazing, and the story is a little bit scary. My nine year old was captivated by it.
The Marvellous Fluffy Squishy Itty Bitty by Beatrice Alemagna
Translated from the original French, this beautiful picture book tells the story of Edith, who embarks on a mission to buy the perfect birthday present for her mum. My six year old enjoyed this, but I think mainly because one of the characters shares his name!
There’s A Troll On My Toilet by Catherine Jacob and Mike Byrne
Finally, a bit of toilet humour to keep my boys happy. This funny picture book was a Halloween pick, and didn’t disappoint.
More books my kids love: Frog, Mr Panda, Supertato and Winnie the Witch.
