Twenty Albums in Twenty Days: Day 14

OK, so I’ve been doing this Twenty Albums in Twenty Days thing on Facebook, but I figured, what the hell, we’re in lockdown so I might as well share those albums on here, too.

I mean, now is as good a time as any to listen to music, right?

We have weeks and months stretched out before us, so we can make our own soundtracks to isolation, and try listening to music that perhaps we previously overlooked or had forgotten about.

So, Day 14: Best by far by Omar

Despite the title, this is not a best of collection, although the songs are strong enough to sound like one. That crown definitely belongs on his head.

Omar is that singer-songwriter that you’ve probably never heard of, although I’ve written about him on here before. Stevie Wonder once said that when he grows up he wants to be Omar. Such high praise!

His impressive back catalogue stretches right back to 1991, but for the uninitiated, his 2000 offering Best by far is a great place to start.

For a quick taster, here’s Something Real
