Music Monday: revisiting vintage vinyl

Oh it’s been a long time since I’ve done a Music Monday.

Back when shops were open and life was normal I used to browse charity shops looking for 1980s vinyl records.

These were some of the gems I found.

Did you own some of these? Do you still listen to some of them?

  1. I had 7 of those on vinyl, originally. Upgraded all of them to various CD versions (aside from Upfront, which never got the honour of a CD release…would love those and the Street Sounds collections to get retro-tastic reissues, along the lines of the early NOWs).

Hearsay is a superb-sounding vinyl, probably because Jam & Lewis made such awesome productions. Fake is still my top Alex O’Neal jam, and probably my top Jam & Lewis moment (along with Just Be Good To Me, Change Of Heart, Miss You Much and…oh lots, actually)

I Feel For You and Ain’t Nobody are the shizz, too.
