April in Review: a look back at this month

What did you read?

I’m still reading The Mirror & The Light by Hilary Mantel. Hey, it’s a hefty 875 pages, and I’m almost halfway through. It’s amazing, and is best read slowly to savour every single sentence.

What did you watch?

Season One of Stranger Things, started Season Two of Killing Eve, I’m rewatching the Victoria Wood sitcom Dinnerladies, & we’re lovingĀ  Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist

What did you listen to?

Bright Light Bright Light This Was My House – a brand new song with 90s throwback vibes

Adam Lambert Stranger You Are – currently my favourite song.

How’s work been?

Well, I worked from home (like most people) for three weeks but then I got furloughed!

How are the kids doing?

Surprisingly well. They have adjusted to home learning, and now that I’m furloughed I can give them my full attention instead to trying to work at the same time as helping them.

We go for lots of walks in the woods and they play in the garden every day. I am thankful for our outside spaces.

Any lockdown life success stories?

I cut my own hair! (It turned out fine, thank you).

And what was the most popular post on your blog this month?

Inexplicably, the most popular post was this old one about albums that have influenced my taste in music. Read it here.

Anything else to mention?

Well, I’ve been experimenting with facial hair. The jury is still out on this one…
