June is Black Music Month.
Today I’m looking back at the music of Monie Love.
She released her debut album, Down To Earth, way back in 1990, when I was a young and impressionable sixteen-year-old boy.
I loved her music; it sounded so fresh.
Most of all, I loved her collaboration with Adeva, Ring My Bell.
I liked the way she infused house music into her work.
Listen to Down To Earth via Spotify.
