What are you reading this week?

I’m taking my sweet time with Keith Richards’ memoir Life. It’s a hefty tome that demands you don’t rush it.

I’m also delving into Carrie Fisher’s Postcards from the Edge and am already halfway through.

It. Is. Hilarious.

It is from this book, dear reader, that my all-time favourite quote comes: “Instant gratification takes too long.”

Try to top that.

(You can’t.)

Because reading two books simultaneously isn’t enough, I’m also reading The Trouble With Goats and Sheep by Joanna Cannon.

Set during the British heatwave of 1976 (when I was two years old) this is a page-turner about two young girls investigating the mysterious disappearance of a neighbour from an ordinary-seeming street. Fantastic stuff, full of nostalgic references to my own childhood, such as Angel Delight pudding and TV shows like Sale of the Century.

Anyway, enough about me. What are you reading?
