My wife won a free meal for two in a new Oxford restaurant, so that’s where we spent Saturday night.

It was somewhat overwhelming to be in a crowded and loud restaurant, with waiting staff bustling by with trays laden with food and drinks. It had been so long since I’d heard the clinking of wine glasses, noisy laughter, thumping music and the muffled chatter of other diners.

Oxford looked beautiful in the last light of the day, despite the cold.

Life, finally, feels more ‘normal’.
